Artist Statement
“The colors and intricate details of each piece of my work have unique personalities of their own. It could be a traditional stain glass window or a work of art for a custom door to a small jewelry box, each takes on a life of its own as the light reflects and passes through them. Not any two works of art are the same. They are created from the finest materials available. Each is made with the utmost attention to detail and created with pride.”
Steve has always been interested in stained and leaded glass. This fascination started while travelling when younger, but it wasn’t until a sudden career change in the late 1990’s that he started to pursue his passion for glass.
He worked and trained under Ron and Jean Pratley of Leaded Light in Vancouver, where he learned many aspects of the trade. He also worked in the commercial development with glass which gave him a different perspective and appreciation for the endless ways that glass can be transformed into beautiful pieces of custom art.
