Artist Statement

“I have been a resident of Surrey my entire life. I was born, raised, schooled and worked in my career of 31 years in the Surrey/Delta area.  I have been a creator of art for most of my life yet have had no formal training. Painting, wood working, and model building set the foundation for my current passion for metal sculpting, using mainly recycled and discarded materials.

Welding and metal work always intrigued me and so I enlisted the help of a family member to teach me the basic skills of welding and how not to electrocute myself! My metal creations started basic and have evolved to more elaborated works of art, some of which are displayed in the Watershed Gallery.

If I'm not in my shop welding, I like to spend my time at our family cabin that we built in a remote lake access community north of Pemberton, B.C. “
